Appointment Of Independent Director

The Board of Directors of ASA GROUP HOLDINGS LTD (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Soo Choon Kiat as an Independent Director of the Company with effect from 11 April 2008.

Mr Soo is considered independent pursuant to Listing Rule 704 (8) of the SGX-ST Listing Manual.

Mr Soo will be appointed as the Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Remuneration Committee to replace Mr Kuan Cheng Tuck who will be retiring as a Director at the conclusion of the forthcoming Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held on 29 April 2008.

Mr Soo has no prior experience as a director of listed company. However, by virtue of his profession, he is aware of the duties and responsibilities of a director of a listed company.

The particulars of Mr Soo as required under Listing Rule 704(7) of the SGX-ST Listing Manual are set out in the prescribed Announcement of Appointment of Independent Director.
